Over 2 years ago I wrote about having a restart. Check it out to see what God was speaking to me about. I think as Christ followers we forget what it was like before we followed Christ. For me I've know Jesus as my savior since I was 5. That only leaves 5 years as a pre-Christ follower. Let's just say I was a sinner who knew my need for Jesus.
But as a child who comes to Christ verses an adult or teen, it's very different. I heard from an adult who trusted Christ later in life that after 2-3 years she had forgotten it was like before she knew Jesus. In many ways that is great. It means her life has been transformed by the blood of Jesus. She has experienced Romans 12 in her life. Something we all need. But at the same time she was communicating that things weren't as new and exciting as they once had been. I totally get that. I've done that. Shortly after Bible college I felt that way. I had learned so much during those years that I felt a huge void after I left.
The past few weeks I've learned so much. How you might ask. I was challenged by a friend to read "Sitting at the feet of Rabbi Jesus." This book as opened up my eyes and heart with a renewed passion for God's word. I long to be in his word. So much so that I've even taken on a 30 day challenge or reading through the New Testament in 30 days. Want to join me.
1. Pick up and starting read Sitting at the Feet of Rabbi Jesus.
2. Go to youversion and choose the New Thru 30 reading plan. Start a free account and start reading.
At the end of those 30 days let me know what you think. If you are looking for a restart, let's do it.
